My resort shops didn't have much but I snatched up this three pack of CoRos for $40. I saw singles in another shop for $39 and a three pack was $83 at the airport.
The gift shop had these Leon Jimenes Petites which are hand made by La Aurora. Apart from being great little smokes they are amongst the best quality little cigars I've ever seen. They make Cohiba Clubs and the like look amateurish in their construction.
When I was in the DR I was tempted to buy an Opus X to try but they wanted $55 each! Literally the next day a guy on a Facebook group posted these up for ?30 the pair and they arrived today. The one on the left is an Anejo Shark #77. Both from at least 2015. Result!
Happy Christmas to me! I was so pleased with the appearance of the custom roll toros that Shaun facilitated that I bought another ten without even trying one. Custom rolls are a bit of a gamble especially when you buy privately as you can't prove the provenance and you have to trust the seller. These toros were supposed to have been rolled in the Partagas factory with tobacco from the 2014 harvest. All I can say is that they smell Cuban and the external construction is perfect. I'll smoke one on Wednesday and find out if they're more than a pretty face.
