Congratulations, all the cigars look wonderful, enjoy smoking them.
How did the rest of your trip go? What would you recommend about Cuba after your trip there?

Mate, how often do you frequent Cuba?

When it comes to the Canadian thing, I just take up to 100 and pay the small amount of taxes for the 50... that is...... if it's worth it.
50% import tax (around that) on a box of Limited Edition Cohibas going for ~250USD would bump the price up to around 375. This would still be cheaper than Swiss standard stores which normally has the LE Cohibas going for 450-550 USD.

Try ?229.65 per kilo of cigars and they weigh the whole box ( that's 409 of your Disney dollars)

i was pleased with them all , but the coros, they smell superb , i had the owner turning the humidor upside down for older boxes , a couple of minutes gained me 2 years +
got to say really helpful in that shop
they seemed surprised i wanted older boxes if possible , telling me i must check the boxes ( as if i wouldnt ) as theyr old cigars
                    great shop , recommended .

i could only go for a week this time so we just chilled

my choice would be a 2 night stay in Havana , sight seeing , cigar factory etc followed by 12 nights in Varadero , from Varadero you could travel into Trinidad , another city with old colonial buildings , perhaps in the second week , Caya Blanco ( white island ) is a great day out on the catamaran , beach barbecue etc , the jet skis are enjoyable for half a day also .

Varadero being tourist area , you,l see lots of the old yank tanks not seen everywhere .

So id say for me , i like the charm of the people and its laid back friendly atmosphere , beautiful old colonial buildings in the citys , ( world heritage sites ) the cars , cigars , cuban music ...........

The food to be honest im not keen on and i can eat anything LOL , its always seems cold , but theyr giving you what they havent got for themselves , i always remember that

The hotels on the whole are nothing special ive found , but it doesnt seem to matter , you dont really go for the food or hotel .......you tend to overlook all that and enjoy its true beauty its like living in a working museum ............its just Cuba LOL

i guess you just have to try it ............it is difficult to explain .....its just Cuba

That's very interesting thought. Does a cargo hold get down to the minus 18 C of a domestic freezer or is just sustained near freezing temperature which make it so hazardous to humans? Side note : My mate used to work as a baggage handler at Aberdeen airport and his training included the advice that if you get caught in the cargo hold then open peoples cases and put all the clothes on you can to try to stay warm enough to survive!

Lovely pickup - a box of CoRos is something I've been keeping my eye on for a while

the prices a forum member kindly posted a while ago ( cant remember who ) were spot on in the casa del habanos in the shopping mall
Is there a limit on how many cigars you can take out of Cuba?

I had never thought of that, although that wouldn't help with hand luggage and I think I would still prefer to freeze, just in case

We went in 2007 and 2012 and what upset my wife was the begging that seems to have proliferated with the relaxation of economic controls.

This is quite a common complaint about Cuba, but just remember that for vegetarians its worse - my wife was going mad by the end of the first week

It really doesn't matter overall though, one of the best countries I've ever visited, and I wasn't even too much into cigars then
