  • My First Box ... and Others

An exciting moment - for me, anyway - and I would have written about it at the weekend, but time was taken up with a poorly wife and daughter as excited as always to have daddy home after being away for work.

This was a bit of an emergency purchase - not my absolute favourite of the various cigars I've tried over the past few weeks, but I couldn't let the opportunity go. It had to happen sooner or later and I felt like I'd been missing something by not taking the plunge! So, here it is. My first box

Bolivar Royal Coronas, stamped POS ABR07 on the back. (I seem to be incapable of uploading anything except thumbnails from my laptop and no idea how to re-orientate them.)

It arrived at the same time as a piramides sampler and some NC singles ...

... so I had to tackle the question I'd been hoping to avoid (for a while), 'hmm, how many cigars do you need?' I was tempted to reply 'all of them', but decided to change the subject and keep a low profile instead. I will be collecting my orders or getting them delivered to work for a little while now.

The first box is always exciting, and we all face that question, several times. Keep the faith (and the cheque card bills hidden!) images.jpeg

Nice one, can't go wrong with a box of Boli RC's, pretty good going to get a 7 year old box as well.

Yaay, nice choice on the Boli RC box Great smoke IMO. How many cigars? A very pertinent question which depends how deep you want to delve, and how deep the pockets are too ay?

Buy to smoke as you go, start accumulating to get some aged stock, or simply because it's good to have some quantity around. The permutations and reasons are many and purely personal. Enjoy the ride

This is similar to the question posed to triathletes; How many bikes is enough?

There is in fact a handy equation to answer these questions, N + 1, with N being the number you currently own of whatever it is that the questions about [emoji6]

Aye, a great choice for a first box, agree that you can't go wrong with Bolis & '07 means they have some age on them already. Go ahead & enjoy!

                07! Bloody excellent!!

Enjoy em, mate. Smoke every one of them yourself. Every. Single. One.

Or at least have them smoked in your presence
