As some of you may have seen on Saturday's 'What are you smoking today?' thread I got a promotion at work which is actually to the job I have been aiming for since I first started at the organisation seven years ago

I was originally told that I didn't get the job. I was up against a person who had done the job before and I didn't feel I gave as good an account of myself as I could have at the interview (although the interviewers disagreed), so I wasn't expecting to get the job, but it was still quite devastating as the jobs only come up every two or three years, so I decided to make an order to cheer myself up, which arrived last week:

25 Bolivar Belicosos Finos ALT OCT 13

10 Cohiba Siglo VI LTB JUL 13

10 Partagas Lusitanias AUB NOV 12

And then last Thursday I was called into see to the two Heads of Department, and they offered me the job as someone else resigned. So I made an order for a box of cigars I was promising myself when I finally got promoted - my wife is unimpressed that I've managed to completely fill my humidor but I'm ecstatic!

I don't think these are a Butternut Special

    Cohiba 1966 MLO NOV 11

I also treated myself to these (the RyJ Mille Fleurs came free with the order)

    A Likely Story!

Some folks will use ANY excuse to buy and extra box or two....but yours is one of the best I've heard.

    Congrats on the promotion.

Congratulations, that's a hell of a time to wait but you got there in the end.

        The '66 look practically edible.

I needed to work my way through three other levels before I got there so it was always going to take a bit of time

Way to go Shep, that's amazing news and I have to say, your taste in cigars is impeccable. Enjoy the 1966, with luck we can compare notes soon. I also hope you enjoy that fat little Trinny rob t LE, I think they're great.

Congratulations on your promotion mate, though I'm surprised the commiseration's part isn't about your divorce after that kind of order.

I'm lucky as I have quite an understanding wife and as long as I give her a bit of warning that I'm ordering then she doesn't get too annoyed, in this case she just got annoyed at the number of boxes I am a acquiring!

I'm am slightly worried about the cigars I got from a split arriving in the next couple of days though...

                    Some aged RASS perchance?

I passed on the RASS (to my slight regret - I just couldn't justify it when I have a box), I'm waiting on some Party Presidentes and possibly some Boli's

Congrat's & don't worry the cigars should last longer than the grief from the wife (just!).
