  • What goes inside don TJ's massive unit!

Yesterday I took the gang to seven mile beach in the Cayman Islands to visit our old friend Jesus Lara Perez and pick up a couple of his custom rolled puros.

Jesus was the brother of Avelino Lara who managed the el Leguito Factory years ago and developed many of their most famous blends. Jesus also worked at el Leguito along with his brother and both were personal rollers for Fidel. In later years, they left Cuba to work in Nassau at the Graycliff Hotel, where Avelino developed the Famous Graycliff line. According to Jesus, they left Graycliff after the owner wanted to mass produce the cigars, which cause the quality to go down. You can read more about Avalino HERE!

That's a great picture, although I feel a more pertinent question would be "what goes on inside don TJ's head?"

I like to believe that there actually is a dog smoking a pipe in there, trying to relax in a world of emoticons.

Can't see me reflection in the window behind the man making cigars??? I'm the one who looks like a dog smoking a puro.

$13 CI (Cayman Island). You'll have to figure out what that is in you respective countries' currency.

?9.36 according to google. So they would probably be 20 odd quid in the UK.

Good question. They taste great...on the medium to full side, with a slightly loose bunch, so the have tons of flavorful smoke. They were rolled as I watched, so they will be good for another week or two, than I will put them down in don TJ's massive unit for at least a year before trying again.

And to the rest of you bums, the only way you'll see any of these beauties is when you pry them from don TJ's cold, dead hands!

Haha brilliant, you hold on to them. That place looks amazing TJ, what a nice place to see a master at work and enjoy good good and drink. Did you get you free bottle of rum? And free cigars with the turn down service. I think I need a holiday.

I wish I could afford the Caymans but there again I don't have a massive unit either!
