i'd say between a week or month of stabilisation

but if he's talking ageing, you'd enjoy them fresh, John. Many said they'd need ageing, but really, they're one of the sticks that are known to be good fresh

So that's what happened to Kevin when he split from Roland rat to go solo ... career spiralled and now he's washed up, overweight and working for you as an attack hamster guarding a box of Epicure No.2's.

So now I have to call Freddie Star, discover whether he smokes Cubans and if so is he interested in splitting some HDM's?

                    Grumpy Old Puros!

                    Ahem, chicobutterednutz is correct...sorta'.

I WAS referring to the age of your puros and the need to let them rest until they recover from the so-called "sick period
" A good rule of thumb, according to the late, great don TJ, is no less than one year. But there have been a few reports of exceptions to this rule, but the familia Coro can not attest to these claims.

Now, according to many afficionados, the sick period is a result of the continued fermentation of the leaf (refermentation?) that occurs AFTER the puro is rolled. Don TJ always told us that fermentation is accelerated by the moisture introduced when the wrapper is applied to a freshly rolled puro. Which makes sense, since the wrapper is moistened during the rolling process to make it more pliable as it is carefully wrapped around the bunch.

But fear not, mi amigo...this nasty business doesn't happen all at once, and there are few things more pleasurable than smoking a fresly rolled puro! But only in the first few weeks!!! After that, the ammonia produced through fermentation is so overpowering that it makes the puro un-smokeable!
So in summary, young PJ, while there are reported exceptions to the one-year rule, mostly from the fine folks residing in London town and
brain, a good general rule for aging fresh puros is no less than one year.

But like I always say, that's just me...you be the judge.

Names Perro, el Perro, and I'm at your service.

Yoohoo! I can think of at least ONE thing better than smoking a freshly rolled puro.

Haha! No doubt Ray Gay, but please...keep it to yourself!
