  • Boveda Seasoning Pack

    Just seen these on Amazon.

Boveda One Step EZ Humidor Seasoning Packet - 84% RH by Boveda

I converted to Boveda packs a long time ago, but has anybody got any experience with these?

I am mainly using tupperdors at the moment, but have at couple of humidors that need seasoning properly.

Depends on how quickly you need to do it, 14 days is a long time. I've just brought mine up to 65% by traditional methods in two days and for a lot less money.

Mine took 24hrs to get to 72% then dropped to 69% and has been stable between 65-69% with only a few minor tweeks thats been nearly a year aswell

If you've got space in a cooler or a friend's, put the whole humi in.

Yeah I should really grab one of these just to put me at peace of mind, my humidor is sitting at a constant 72% but I am not completely sure how precise the calibration was. Putting it back into a bag with one of these bovedas would tell me exactly this!

Sounds like you need a calibration kit rather than a seasoning one. Once you've calibrated a hygrometer you can check the accuracy of subsequent ones just by putting them together in the same humidor.

meeeeeeeh, i don't believe in those things.
i just let nature work her course: shallow pans of water at the bottom of the humidor for 2 days.

then the 69 bovedas or the beads will work their magic for 1 day. the put your sticks in

Yeah this is true but I'm questioning the real difference between a boveda pack and my used milk top filled with salt slurry? I doubt it could really put the readings off to a level out of the 10 +- zone needed to read 65-75% so then it comes down to getting my humi sitting at around the 69-70% median and I will be safe.
