Thought i would start getting a little collection of sticks going.

This might be a silly question but i have set up a tupidor until i get my first humidor but do i need to the cigars out of the clear wrapping before putting them in and should i do anything before putting them in.

The hygrometer is reading 65% and and done the salt test on it so i now where its at and the temp at 60.2f is this about right??

I would leave them in the cello but others will say take them out, i dont think it really matters unless you have artificial flavoured cigars that have a strong smell.

Your RH and temp seem fine

Leave them in the cellophane Danny unless you want to remove it more aesthetic reasons, it breathes and lets the moisture through. Some people loosen the lids on the tubos as do I but that would spark a whole new thread again. Sounds like its ready to me, just remember to monitor it and open it at least once a week to allow a change of air. As Simon warned me, remember what happens to sandwiches left too long in plastic boxes!

PS You'll soon find there is no such thing as a 'little' collection of sticks!

Yeah, cello is either or, though I take them out generally unless like Mo says they are particularly aromatic.... Re the tubos, depends how long your keeping them I think..... I'm sure it was tippexx who posted some good menditions on tubos recently, converted me to thinking just leave the stick sealed in the tube.

Nice start to your collection. I keep the cello on bit only because I'm too lazy to take it off. Enjoy

Some great cigars to start with, the upmannn jnr corona is one of my preferred CC. I leave the cello on and the tubos closed simply because I cant be bothered to take them off

Nice little collection mate as people said leave them in. But another thing people say is leaving them in cellophane it stops mixing of flavours from wrapper leafs
