I'm trying to convince my wife, that mahagony type cupboard/cabinet or similar will look good in our living room. Thinking to seal all joints from inside, add spanish cedar on the sides and trays, seal doors and hoping it will work as cheap/large cabinet. Anyone has done this before?

I have been think about doing something similar, spanish cedar seems to be a rare comodity in the UK

Good tip from a friend of mine the other day, he used to custom build guitars, he says custom joiners/cabinet makers/workshop's often have scraps or can even retail you cedar wood or a close relative.

All else fails you could use an old cedar cigar box to line a cabinet.

Now that would be a strange ringtone to explain to explain to someone!

Good tip, just be sure that its Spanish cedar though. Spanish cedar is actually an aromatic mahogany. If you end up with Port Orford Cedar or something similar, your sticks are going to smoke like potpourri due to just how aromatic the wood is.

Edit: I forgot to add that it is not so rare in the UK if you go to the right places.

If I can ever find my exotic wood specialist contact list (adventures in longbow making.)

I will post some more links.

When I was looking before I found my bargain humi I discovered tone wood is a useful term to search with or cigar box cedar. Both will throw up finds on eBay and the net.

Those sharks look like they bite. Ho ho

The wrapper is aged in booze I hear that must give it a very different flavour.

It does. They are a very very nice smoke. It is a chore to find them year round over here. They normally release them 2 times per year.
