I had smoked a petit julieta a few months back and was massively underhwlemed. A positive review on here made me think, and upon talking to the chap at the shop, his main recommendation was the wide churchill of RyJ. I took it on board and kept looking, no more than 10minutes later, a man came in buying a few and I overheard him talking saying how he still had one of the RyJ Wide churchills of a 10box left and how it was the most delicious smoke he'd had in years, so creamy. I just thought to myself, I cant argue with that and took them off the shelf.

I had looked at the NC side of the humidor with little interest, thinking cubans were the only thing I should be considering as I can get NCs when I go to america. However of all the NCs, Davidoff have always intrigued me, whether it the classy presentation or the huge davidoff humidor I ogled in Vegas last year. Either way I swayed to the Davidoff and after short deliveration, chose the 2000s over the 1000s.

After these picks, my little pot of funds were expended, plus ?20 fuel money for when I arrived back, but I was happy as larry with my selections.
Off I went for food with a niggling feeling, should I make more of this oppurtunity for bargain smokes if a high quality. I dashed upstairs to the HSBC lounge and withdrew another 90euros for some greasy food and one last plundering of the humidor.

I walked to the second, yet almost identically stocked humidor and stood looking at the cohibas. Despite being the least discounted of all the cubans, I really wanted a nice Set of Cohibas to save for a nice treat when I feel necessary. I ogled the Behikes and then insisted to myself80 euros to spend and no more, the gent working there saw my eyes on the BHK52s and said, "nice cigar, but just way overpriced" so that was settled. The Siglo VIs sat just under my budget for a 3 pack but I really wanted 2 different cigars for my final purchases. The robustos sat just about right in the combination I would eventually make, and the robusto, a size that I had previously been told was the benchmark for cubans, I picked them up.

The thicker gauge Upmanns had stuck in my head after reading multiple people mentioning magnum Upmanns, they may have been the larger ring gauges, but at 46 , these were the biggest available, and taking my total to bang on the ammount of cash I had withdrawn, they were my final pick.

all in all, a great few hours spent mulling, the only one I am slightly unsure of as I wasa at the time was the Cohibas, the most expensive of the lot and the least discounted, I just hope they meet the price tag when they get lit.
