SOmeone told me once that with Lanceros and the like the ratio of Wrapper to filler is higher so gives a better taste.

Not sure about that Yeti. Mitch says there's very little flavour in wrappers, though to be honest I'm not convinced.

I would have thought selection would be important in achieving the roll and the best chance would come from choosing those leaves that were thinner and more pliable, and which as in all plant forms occur highest, and in tobacco these are the more flavoursome .... just my thoughts mind, I've no proof.

If the wrapper was that important to flavour I think you would see a lot more ugly wrappers around. The fact that they choose good looking leaves suggests that aesthetics is the primary consideration in wrapper choice. I may well be wrong though as I'm sure people have done tests with swapping wrappers on cigars half way through and they claim to notice the difference.

EDIT: I'd be up for taking a few of these as well if you did do a split.
