SS, it was indeed CGars.

I'll probably, depending upon the weather on Saturday in Cardiff, be giving the HdM Epicure No2 the first airing. I'm so, so tempted by the Monte Open Regatta (my first Monte full-stop as it happens), but I know they're almost straight off the boat - no pun intended... I'll give that one a little longer first.

They look a pleasing selection Simon.

Here's my haul. I took advantage of an offer on the La Flor de Cano Preferidos and Selectos and added in 3 VR Famosos, 2 Por Larranaga Petit Coronas and an H. Upmann No.2. They threw in 3 extra PLPCs for luck.


[EDIT] I've just opened a box of each and had to look up old-style codes. The Selectos has EGD CCUT which appears to mean March 1999 and the Preferidos has CBNISU which appears to mean December 1998. These could be interesting!

They normally send them as freebies and I find them to be fine, if a little mild, after a few months at 70% (bit harsh and too much tobacco flavour at 65% IMO). I was intending to buy some anyway for drunken moments and non-afi mates but when I saw that offer I thought it was worthwhile stocking up. I'll be interested to see the difference the age makes. Nothing spectacular but it means my better cigars will take less of a hit and hopefully gain some age.

Phenomenal haul Dave. You won't care how pissed you are if you smoke one of them!! A few months ago I woke up after a huge sesh to find a MC Sublimes butt in the ashtray with no recollection at all of smoking...bloody waste LOL

Was a box split with HairyDave (he doesn't post here yet, too scared ).
He's raving about the Sir Winstons, had some 2004s that were OK but not as exciting as these sound ...

Cuabas are 2008 - need to get them at the right humidity for a bit & recheck.
