  • A mixed bag, good and some not so good?............

2 batches just in at chez Fats..

The first is a juicy little package from JJFox comprising of -

    2 Padron 1964 Torpedo
    3 Padron 1964 Principe
    1 Padron 2000
3 Ramon Allones Extra LE (cannot wait to try these babies, I also think that RA should re adopt this old band permanently)

The second batch is courtesy of my old man, after a visit to the US of A. He completely ignored the list I gave him and decided to use his initiative (never a good thing in my experience).

2 Oliva O Maduro - his one good choice
    2 Macanudo Cru Royale
    2 R&J Habana reserve Churchills
    2 R&J Habana reserve Robusto
2 Benchmade - not convinced about these at all!!!

I suppose at the very least they add some variety to the stock, still its the Padrons and RA that are wetting my appetite right now.

I am hoping to try the RyJ habana reserve robusto soon. Can you let me know how they are?

      Will do mate.

I have to say that they look quite nice and smell divine, the cold draw through the foot is also very chocolaty. They may turn out to be the surprise in the bunch.

That is a a nice little haul there Fat! Have fun with those, especially those Padrons! Are you working your way through the NC range at the moment, or just fancied a change up from the CC?

All this talk of the Habana Reserve Robusto is wetting my appetite, so after I type this, Im going to go down the road and grab a couple! Yum!

              Detroit,

I haven't tried that many NCs in comparison to CCs, but I just fancied some. Plus, I have been after trying the Padrons for a while, after hearing so much about them.

The range of NCs available to buy in the UK is fairly limited compared to the states so its handy having a sister who has moved to North Carolina, one of our clan will go to vist at least once a year, so I can sample some of the other brands occasionally.

The 1964 Torpedo is one of the top NCs on my 'to try' list. Let us know how they go!

You certainly dont have to tell me how limited the selection is in the UK compared to the US. However, I'm starting to learn this isnt always a bad thing. There is a lot of rubbish to work your way through to find there gems, and over here in the states...there is a looooot of rubbish. You have started towards to top end though, both those 1964s will be great, I love the Principe size, perfect for a lunch time smoke.

Im going to pull out the reserve robusto today and see how that holds up!
