  • An impulse purchase

I don't normally buy cigars on a whim, I normally read hundreds of reviews before even buying a single. These guys however looked good and the box is stamped with the same month my daughter was born (JUN 11) so I just went for it.

They are still super young so will leave them until next winter when they might make a nice short smoke. Any of you guys tried these yet, I'd be interested to know how they compare to the 2008 EL?

Nice purchase you have there Styler , they are definitely on my to try list, I'd be interested to see how much they differ from a SDN4.

The ELs are made with extra aged leaves and darker wrappers, then they don't really compare even if they may share some flavours.
As for the age: if I were you, I would try one now. The Partagas D4 (big brother to your D5) is the only habanos that I like in its infancy - special "oomph"!

Interesting. I'm pretty religious about waiting at least one year from the stamp date before trying the first stick from a box. I might take your advice though as I've fancied a Partagas for a while but not had any in stock.

          One word... NOM!

I hope you keep that box as it will become sentimental in later life! Very, very nice purchase, Styler.

I'm looking forward to trying these Steve as the EL version is possibly my favourite Partagas....let me know how you get with them

So why not have one once a year on that special occasion?
Its the only way I can think of to make them last.

Sounds like a plan to me.

Now let me think about this....25 sticks equals 25 years.

Hmmmmm, that's a long time. How old are you?

Well I'm 30 now, so if I wait until I'm 31 to smoke the first one then I can smoke the last on my 40th.... oh god that's a little depressing.

Enjoy Styler. From what I've read they're very full on sticks especially in the final third, so maybe a little care with your first one?
If you want to, you can.
And, if you can, you must!
