Probably the last purchase for 2011

Shipment in today! Been waiting for these boxes to arrive for about a week. Anyway, this is going to be the last purchase of the year. Just thought i would share some pictures. After reading all about the Juan lopez here in the forums, couldnt resist getting a cab to see what all the hype is about. Honestly, not the prettiest box of cigars i have currently but the aroma sure makes up for its looks! Besides a few sticks with slight wrapper damage, they all feel really well rolled without any soft spots on any of the cigars. The draw on these should be great! Any comments on how the 2010 cabs (25s) of JL2 are smoking at the moment? Hope to get some feedback before firing up a stick. Have a great day guys

JL2 and El Principe, two of my favorites, congrats!

I like what I see on the pic of the feet: robustos MUST be well packed. Loose, underfilled robustos burn too hot, too fast, and there's nothing you can do about it…
Recent JL2 are much stronger than they were, let say, before 2008. Let them rest/recover from the trip, then try one after a solid meal…
As for the El Principe, my 2010 are delicious, best El Principe since long IMHO…

Maximelite - I have a 25 cab of JL2s from June 10. I couldn't resist smoking a few last year and 1 at the start of this year, predictably they tasted a little 'green' with some amonia but still had that JL creaminess in the background. I smoked one again in July and the harshness had mostly gone but I felt the first two 3rds were much better than the final 3rd which was a tad strong.

I have decided to leave them until the end of this month before having another crack.

Great choice though mate, I love the JL2s in fact I would even say they could be my favourite when they are on song

I think you may be a man after my own heart, as I also got myself a 10 box of short churchys recently and am toying with the idea of a box of el principes next. Maybe we share a supplier too

Hi Fat1 - i have a Jun 10 box too that are coming very good just now. I too dipped in when I first got them but found them way too hay-like and wisely (for once) laid them away
I still think it's my fave smoke....

smallclub- great to hear that the 2010 el principe is smoking well cause frankly i haven had one before. i bought it cause of some reviews i read and plus i really like the size for a short smoke so i tend to buy little cigars of different brands.. (cheaper too). As for the JL2s probably will rest them for 2 weeks before trying one..but the anticipation....
