21 years? How on Earth is that possible? What on Earth are they planning on charging him with? Surely whatever it is, it has to be something with a mandatory sentence that extends longer than 21 years??

A Norwegian Nurse called Arnfinn Nesset murdered 23 in the early Eighties, served 21yrs & was released in 2004 & is now living free under a new ID in Norway.
The same sentence awaits Breivik, whick of course he knew when he made his plans.
am I the only one who thinks the capturing police, should have shot him dead whilst trying to arrest him, as you would a rabid dog? There was no doubt he had carried out the shootings. A capital crime deserves a capital punishment, in Europe this sentence has been removed from the books, even the war criminals can only get 20yrs at the Hague.
In Britian he would never get released due to public opion on the Home Secretary but you can bet the European Judicary would be claiming this was unfair as you have to give them a date of their release. At least the American states that don't have the death penalty, he would get 30yrs for each murder & make him serve as many of them as he was alive for.

Agreed. I just don't get what he was about. A totally senseless and appalling destruction of innocent young people. I hope he falls down some stairs in a police station because no one would care.

Times like this just leave me speechless, the depths of depravity some sink to I just cannot comprehend. They should put him in a room with all the grieving mothers and walk away.

There are no words I can say except for injustice and sickening. It's such a loss, sadly I lost a friend last year who was 17. Losing somebody close to you just shows how fragile life is, I discovered how fortunate I am to wake up every morning to hear birds singing, something we all take for granted until we've been hit with real loss.

Very sad, no doubt the nutter in Norway will claim insanity and be looked after in special care.
