somthing i wondered while watching the cigar roller at work was how much do they get paid for that back in the cuban factory. ive heard that its a sort after job and many years training so must be reasonably well paid for cubans. also how much does a shop over here pay them to roll in there shop for the day?
i realise i proberbly wont get an anwser to the last question but just got me thinking.

Yes the rollers jobs are sort after & reasonable well paid for Cuba (particularly after recent massive government jobs lay off) but it's still factory work, with long hours & targets to meet. I met one guy how had been rolling Fundadores for 10yrs, not much variety there!
I don't know if the shops pay directly to the facotory who supplies the rollers but in Antwerp, Mr Frank just told me last week, that the unofficial tips over a three wk period was more than the roller could earn in 6 months at home & he didn't want to go back!
