Had Sinusitis for the last 10 days and have lost sense of smell and taste, tried a couple of Trinidad Reyes over the weekend and just did not enjoy them, i think i could have smoked an old sock and would have not known the difference,doctors appointment booked for the morning Apologies should be in Off-Topic

Steam room or Turkish bath, not too hot. And stay out of the sun while you are taking the Anti biotics.

Beconase nasal steroid spray (which I have on prescription, but I think you can get over the counter) and Sinus relief tablets from boots. I suffer terrible... awake all night stuff... and I fly a lot which can kill me. And one things that doesn't help? Cigars I'm afraid.... and I smoke everyday! lol

Had some dental surgery a couple of years ago and along with the Anti biotic's really messed up my cigar enjoyment, don't think my taste buds were right for about six months...But with copious amounts of scotch and perseverance I won through.

That is what the doc has prescribed so will give it a try although the copious amount of scotch that Jacobwaits suggests sounds more fun

I find when my sinuses get a bit much, I use my neti pot. I've mentioned it before here. It doesn't actually go into your sinuses but flows past them and creates a slight suction which will help clear them. Feels a bit odd at first but not much different to swimming underwater. It's cheap and drug-free too!

Yes have used a sinus rinse with a previous episode of sinusitus and it does help clear out the nasal gunk although like you say a weird sensation when you first do it, the beconase seems to be starting to work so hopefully i can get my tastebuds back soon.
