I don't think it will affect the number of Cigars smoked. It may shift the balance toward mail order from B&M. This shift will prompt people to look further afield and toward foreign sources that will post "under the radar". The knock on effect from this will be less ???s in the country coffers. Unfortunately No. What the Government might loose in tobacco Revenue they'll make up by taxing something else .... shoes or toilet paper .... they can be quite sneaky!

I just read about coming measures to be taken against tobacco sales in UK in October 2011 (!).
Is the UK Government really going to replace all packaging with plain packaging and limit the presentation of tabacco products in autumn 2011?

I know that the EU thinks about such ideas for several months, but I wasn't aware of the fact that UK is about to do that now.
