So how many of you play poker?

As the title reads really,

I was thinking today, that everyone I smoke with, are also keen poker players (myself included) got me to thinking, I wonder if that pattern is consistent here also.

This led me to thinking, if so, and there are a few of us up for it, why dont we set up a bit of a UKCF Poker Competition? We could run a five week league or so on a Sunday afternoon, points assigned in order of finish, at the end of the five weeks, everyone involved could send the winner a couple of nice smokes for their hard work!

I reckon if we could get a minimum of at least 6 of us involved then it would work fairly well.

Being new here, my apologies if this has already been done, but even if so, nothing stopping us from giving it a go again!

So I shall put my name down first on the list! Who else is up for it?

We tried something like this last summer. It seemed to work okay for a few weeks, and was then a little hit and miss afterwards.

I'm all for giving it another shot though (exact time dependent), so you can pop my name down.

Poker?? Don't understand the rules and never felt the inclination to learn. It is fascinating to watch though, a lot of bluffing and lying to get what you want. Sounds just like my marriage, but I still always get what I want

I've played a bit, god a mate who is very good. I'd be up for a game or two but I'm never very good at committing to a set time over a number of weeks, too much always going on!

Well instead of going on for a huge number of weeks, we could just do it for maybe two or three weeks, rather than everyone worrying about committing for a huge length of time. We can find a time that suits everyone, I assume Sunday would be best, but we can try and figure it around as many as possible. I dont mind keeping track of the logistics of it all.

Ohhh, well I like the occasional game of 5stud or TH, but being a student I cant afford to properly play booo to that.
Also I'd love to participate in this little event you guys may be organising but like above, I can see my lack of funding (and decent smokes tbh) causing a bit of a logistical problem :P

I used to play online most nights for several years. I never got particularly good though! I don't play much now as I never remember it's there...
Not sure I could commit I'm afraid.
