  • WHERE is the most memorable place you have smoked a cigar?

    New York.
Walking the streets below the massive skyscrapers.
Magic and quite unforgettable for this Englishman.
Deleted the pictures- idiot - but fully intend to go back in the future.

That's the very same hotel in Havana me and the family will be staying in in October, mate! Looks sublime!

Am I right - something in a previous post - that that was the first cigar you ever smoked?

Not really, had many NC from my Dad etc. Probably first real Cuban. All really started from that one though. 1/2 months later this site was set up...

Glad you're staying there, I did recommend it. Best hotel in Havana mate. Non-government owned. Nice Cigar shop too, with a smoking area in it with leather seats, tv etc. It's where I bought my cigars in the end. There's a cigar factory literally 150 yards away too.

I guess mine would have to be sipping caparinhas in the garden at the Hotel Nationale in Havana, watching the sun set over the water. The wife and I treated ourselves to a night there during our belated honeymoon in January.

One of the Nationale and one of me and one of local girls who cruise for pictures. It was interesting as there are girls/women that dress up in old traditional attire and pester for pictures. This woman just plonked herself down in the relative shade, I popped over and we spoke about the 'touristy' aspects of hassling people for photos: she said "...honey, I just wait for them to come to me" I liked her style

Some great shots there Deano, I wish I'd have had the inkling to take some shots of sticks. TBH, I didn't know about my hobby to be at that point. Did you find the decent hotels had probably some of the cheapest prices? I bought a box of 10 RyJ No.2 for about ?27, crazy.

                          Can't wait to go!

I wondered if the women hovered for snaps!

I have a pic of one of those women too, they do tend to - a couple outside the Parque Central in the park. Their seem to be some debates etc in the square too, I'd stay clear tbh, I think they're political, and there's police with machine guns walking about heh.

Make sure you take advantage Bryan. If I had my time again, with the increased experience I've picked up from the forum, it'd be puro central coming through.
