  • Burn baby burn!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Despite having read countless articles and practiced different methods of lighting the "ol stogie" just recently I have been struggling with uneven burning. I wondered if there might be away of attacking this problem? I found this link that has three ways of helping.

I am sure that I am not alone with this problem! or am I?

    Happy days!!!!!!!!!!!
I see you stand like greyhounds in the slips,
Straining upon the start. The game's afoot:
Follow your spirit, and upon this charge
Cry 'God for Harry, England, and Saint George!'

            Yeh nice article.

I've been thinking of adding our own Cigar wiki to the site. More than just adding FAQs etc, but a whole side-Wiki.

Thoughts anyone? If you're not familair with the concept, let me know.

Deano is that wiki a search engine knowledge database?

I learned about rotating the cigar only a coupe of months ago and it has already come in handy several times. I always would put the long side up and could never figure out why the "spoon" got worse! Good post. i think this article will help out a lot of BOTL.

Well a Wiki is a knowledge base. And it's searchable. If that's what you mean.

But basically it's a central depot for all knowledge, that we can all refer, edit and contribute to.

                  Just like Wikipedia.

                    Senor Larry/moderator (big deal!)

The point about putting the long side down is the most interesting part of the article, since it seems to go against physics principles we all learned or learnt, as most here say.

I prefer the last method mentioned in the article - torch the hell out of the muva' with a torch lighter - something that should be a staple in every cigar aficianados arsenal. Because something, mates, a simple match won't do very well (sorry to all the 3-match TBs).

Thought this thread deserved a little warm up.

Having seen Sam from Nub with a great little three burner lighter last week recommending giving your stogie a jolly good burn up to kick it off, I just came across this picture

on the Facebook page of a great looking Cigar store in the Bronx called Ashes

Looks like something I used to heat a kettle on.

I think this is a good suggestion Deano, as at the moment unless you are familiar with the format of the site then you can search around looking for specific items.

A central and specific Wiki style area to act as a reference point would be ideal.

I think a Wiki stylee info areas is a fantastic idea, it can be difficult to follow some info threads at times and as older ones drop down the list new ones start up on the same subject and we get repeat info.

And to include Cigar stores with reports/feed back/pictures and a map link, we are strting to build something (Can I hear the New Seekers singing brothers????)
