Have course fished since I was 7yo, these days 99% pike fishing, Have sea fished (Indian Ocean) but in general, whilst I have been paid & been seasick, I never pay to get seasick, especially on some tiny fishing boat in the North Sea! I have only done a weekends game fishing for trout but did manage to catch a few on the dry fly to 4lb.
I am limited these days by work & family commitments so I only manage Wed am, Thurs, AM Fri all day, Sat AM & once a leave Mon AM. Find keeping it short keep me hungry for more & lets me get some of the jobs done for SWMBOSimon Bolivar: Liberator of Bolivia, Ecuador, Peru & Venezuela.

I grew up spinning for makerel of the end of a pier every weekend on the west coast of Scotland. Then stopped in my late teens.
Started fishing again about 10 years ago. Fly fishing this time and I absolutely love it even though I only get to partake 2 or 3 times a year due to other commitments.

I've been known to fish for carp from tiem to time, and I know my way around a rod, but I wouldn't say I'm a serious angler. .
I go a couple of times a year maybe, usually when I'm on a camping holiday or just have a hankering for touching something fishyI'm still waiting for the whiskey to whisk me away
And I'm still waiting for the ashtray to lead me astray

I still have my coarse gear lying around tempting me to dip my rod. If the weather's half reasonable on Saturday* I might pop down to Staines or Laleham for (hopefully) some nice Thames Chub (DON'T Google that last term, whatever you do!!).
Although I now prefer the act of casting a fly to trotting or swinging out a feeder, I still get more excited by the idea of catching coarse fish than trout for some reason (can't deny the latter can be more beautiful to the eye).
I think I'm probably best described as a river fisherman - happy to use whatever methods available to catch whatever swims in flowing water. Catching stuffed stocked trout or carp in over-grown puddles is really NOT my bag.
