Common interests are only a problem when you have nothing but common interests in your lives, usually because one gets too clingy and looses their own identity such as Mrs B loves things because Mr A loves them etc.

This was my thoughts. I've always thought (though clearly not speaking from experience), that good relationships include solo interests and time apart. Probably why my parents get on so well, if they start to wrack each other off they go off for a while and do their own thing (shoot, pub, rugby, friends etc - struggling to think what my mum does actually - just very good friends and occasional trips to the theatre I think...)

Well, went out (in a small group) last night to celebrate Trafalgar Day (the 'connection' was that she describes herself as a 'naval geek'). Seemed to go okay (but don't really have anything to gauge it against...)
