That is sad news! Gutted I never got to visit. This was a unique place. Especially in it's locality.

There are a lot of long time shut units around here too.

I think I may finally have this CAD under control...

A very sad day indeed. Had loads of great times there and met a few good friends along the way. It'll be sorely missed.

What a shame. I absolutely loved CASC.

I've been to the shop a few times but never managed to make it to the bar. Sad times. Guys were great at giving advice.

..was just about to announce it on here...really sad times...

Any one of the only shops who actually kept prices reasonable priced in UK terms.

Aw no! I visited CASC every time I went to Aberdeen and I bought all my UK RE stock from them
Paul West, the owner, is such a nice lad.
              Very sad to hear this

Sad moment indeed, but as I mentioned on FB, he should pay his loyal staff, all of whom have all been laid off without a penny, just before Christmas.

Frankly, as a fairly frequent visitor since it opened, I never saw Paul there. Strange way to run a business. I didn't understand why they opened a shop as well, Aberdeen being so small sure most customers would have brought from CASC. Perhaps a little more spent on advertising would have helped that.

And then adding a Bistro to the portfolio may have been the last straw, with the lack of recovery in Aberdeen, that he rightly mentions in his note.

I hope someone does take CASC on soon, it has cigar & whisky trained staff, regular clientele, the walk in humi, the outdoor smoking area (which took the Council yrs to approve) & extra covered area outside the entrance.

Disgusting that staff not being paid, there seems to be quite a lot of that going on with hotels & restaurants here in Cornwall closing down businesses not paying staff & then reopening under new name. It’s always the poor staff that lose out. Sad times!
