  • 2024 Olympics

Just sat here waiting for wife to get ready and put it on then TV, just to see what's going on.

Watching some wall sprint climbing thing. Lasts around 5 seconds each round. Knock out competition. Looks odd to me. Decent sized live audience. At least will be over quick

Any interest in there games? Anyone light up a nice cigar and catch up the highlights?

I've enjoyed watching the games in general, the big events anyway. Not smoked any specific cigar for them. I should maybe look out a QdO or French regional for them.

Tbh first time I've not watched the Olympics. No reason just hasn't seemed to been of interest this time round.

I just found that 'Breaking' has debuted in the Olympics. Lol. When's ballet in? Or ballroom maybe?

Rachael Gunn failed to score a single point with the judges as she lost all three of her breaking round-robin battles.

It's also the first “sport” removed for 2028 already!

I haven't watched much other than the cycling. I haven't felt the urge.

I switched it on yesterday and saw some cycling, the commentator was getting very excited about the action and then I noticed in the corner of the screen that there was 144 laps to go, no f*****g way.

It will be replaced by competitive knitting or crocheting.

In general I've really enjoyed the games. As usual there are a few obscure (to me) “sports” but they don't dominate.

Liked how they used the city and its landmarks as part of the show. Some great photos in link below.

Great entertainment over a couple of weeks when most other sports having a break.

Now time for the Vuelta 🚲
