Cubas sugar industry collapses

Once one of the biggest and most important exports, Cuba is now importing sugar. It needs it's own sugar for producing another export, Rum! So having to import for other uses.

Probably referring to embargo, which is stupid considering other countries it trades with. Cuba is being destroyed by the people who run it & their greed

It's not just the Embargo. The fact that the U.S has designated Cuba as a state that sponsors terrorism (and/or doesn't actively hinder terrorism). This means ANY country dealing with Cuba, or any company that wants to do any business with the USA or U.S companies is at risk if they do business with Cuba.

It's a huge deal and has massive impact. Yes internally it's a mess and has a disaster government etc as well

Edit: when they state Terrorism it’s basically Cuban support of other South American authoritarian/socialist/non-US aligned nations. Ie Venezuela.

Small move from the US taking Cuba off this non-cooperation list. But it's still considered a state sponsor of terrorism. So AFAIK all the restrictions still apply.

Tragic for the people, best we can do as individuals is to go visit Cuban & spend our money there.
