  • Suggestions for a hip flask?

Anyone use one regularly? I've never owned one. Looking at the cheaper stainless steel type.

Any suggestions for what to look out for? Are they all much of the same?

Does stainless steel taint the spirits? Will mostly be scotch.

    Is 8oz/240ml too big?

Hi Banos. I would definitely recommend one like mine that has a hinge attached to the stopper. It's very handy and means it can't drop off and get lost. I wouldn't leave any liquid in there longer term but should be fine for a day or two. My bigger one holds around 200ml I'd say and the smaller one around 50ml.

Cheers Neil. Might go for a smaller more discreet one. Wife's booked us into a couple of Xmas shows. Will need a discrete booster during.

I've noticed some come with a little funnel for filling.

Thanks. I've a 4oz SS one with funnel in my Prime basket. £5.99 - cheaper than you posting it!

If you want a high quality hip flask that will last for years Royal selangor pewter can't be beaten imo. Far thicker and stronger. I've had many hip flasks over the years and these are superb quality and pretty much dent proof.
            Ebay is you friend

I’d agree here. It’s one of those things that just gets better with age and patina. Something to leave for the anipsi

I have a 12oz one for horse racing.

Might be a bit big for what you want but can recommend it.

Ha. I'd worry about me if I had 12oz!
