Hey so I should have updated this thread really. It's been built! In the end I went for tiles. I have a 65" OLED TV on the wall and it's all been insulated (floor, walls and ceiling), plastered and painted. Got a sofa in there as well as an 8-10 seater extendable oak table so it's quite nice to chill in and enjoy a cigar with whisky. Watched a few of the boxing matches and some movies in there recently with some friends. Was thinking of getting one of these Dysons to go in there, wondered if anyone has any experience with these in particular with it filtering out smoke https://www.dyson.co.uk/air-treatmen...yde/white-gold

It's my daughter's birthday tomorrow so I've shuffled it all around for the party on Saturday but when it's back to normal I'll get some pictures and upload them on here.

Very impressive! Just a shame your wife moved in. Oh well, room for something more modest next to it?

Thanks for sharing, This looks pretty cool but I like that the Dyson is smart control and also does heating and cooling, but this one does look pretty good too. At the moment I have been getting by without a purifier as normally have the door open and also don't smoke in their too often but I am definitely keeping my options open and will buy a purifier if required. I think the winter will be more telling when the door can't stay open.

I was pondering making a little pod in the other corner of the garden, soon as the youngest stops using the slide that currently resides there I’ll get cracking..

I must admit having a cigar on a summer evening on the decking enhances the experience ten fold, probably won’t be as keen during the winter.

Thanks for the linky. Been looking at purifiers as will be to cold to smoke outside soon.

How you find this purifier as I see it’s in the Prime sale today and I’m thinking of getting on?

              A few Q’s please:
              - How close do you need to sit to the filter for it to filter out cigar smoke ?
              - Does it eliminate all smoke or is there still some lingering in the room after ?

I sit about six feet away, if you leave it on auto it is so sensitive that it will kick in 10 seconds after you light up (and turn off when the air is clear). It will clear smoke but there will always be a residual smell. Air fresheners help but the only thing I've found that completely clears the smell is a silver ioniser like the one in my dehumidifier.

Thanks. Just got one for £169 which seams reasonable.

Our lounge always seams to be dusty so hopefully this will resolve that + the benefit of clearing smoke on the odd occasion I do smoke indoors

Just received this, well made and smaller than I first thought it would be.

Have just lit a candle and blown it out and it kicked in (on auto) within about 5-secs from about 4ft away.
