  • Any motorheads ?

How we doing here this evening chaps ?

Im sitting here listening to the opening tune for Coronation Street with a coffee and a Monte 4 and all i can think about is the noise that came from the Cobra kit car with that beautiful, sophisticated (dare i say sexy ?)small block chevy v8. God the gargle that comes off that beast !

Tell me what they are and I will tell you. Clutch went at 17000 miles and wasn't covered by warranty. Cost me best part of 3000 for a new one. And a set of 19 inch low profiles every year at 1000 a set lol. Plus 15 to the gallon

Lambda sensors to measure the oxygen levels and emissions output. Not sure about the new vectra's but if i remember correctly im sure there are 2 on the V6. One on each downpipe.

Occasionally some have lambda's after the Cat aswell.

If the clutch went at 17000 you must'a been doing a lot of hill starts or burnouts :P

Me me! I drive a 93 Mazda Miata. An updated British roadster with Japanese reliability Mine's pretty much a street-driven race car at this point. Can't wait to go out in the snow for some fun this winter! Muwahahaha. I know Warren's one of us too :P

What's a Cat? haha j/k. I ripped mine out this summer and man, I love it! On top of shooting flames at night, the air just smells of victory, especially the first start of the morning!

I potter about on a slightly hopped up Harley.
S&S carb and cam, Black Diamond valves and guides, Bub pipes, slab yokes, lowered, higher bars, paint job etc.
Still not hugely rapid but it's loud and puts a smile on my face.

Haha I like loud! I actually made a video showing off my new exhaust recently:
                http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v_o8Wp5Dhxo

So far, I have turn-signal "intakes", a cheapy cone-filter, test pipe (no cat), Fujitsubo RM01a cat-back exhaust, Stance GR+ coilovers, Racing Beat rear sway bar, and spherical joint end-links. Also have a Hard Dog rollbar (a must in my opinion)

I want to get some delrin bushings, but they're bloody expensive. Next will probably be wider rims/sticky tires unless I need a new clutch/flywheel first.

This is what annoyed me with Vauxhall. I bought a new car from them every other year, i drive 30 miles a day on the motorway, i used to play with boy racers, but that was about it. After doing some research once i sold it, turns out this was happening a lot on these, the new twin clutch system them were using or something similar. It was a decent car and pretty quick, sad to lose it but since taking up the cigars, my foot is a lot lighter on that drive home

Haha well said, Lee! Since it's autumn in NJ, my commute home from school is about to become a bit smokier! Glad I've been stocking up on petit corona-sized sticks since the summer.

The twin-clutch systems seem to be troublesome; more moving parts = more ways things can break/malfunction. The Nissan GT-R's (new ones) have been going through lots of transmissions, too. What kind of Chrysler do you drive now?

Haha you shouldnt say metro. Just say the juniors 6R4 :P.

Satch, that sounds like a lil beast. Pictures if you can manage buddy, would love to see it.

Ive yet to get a licence but been tinkering with cars for a few years now, starting to find the stride

As for tne new gtr's, may as well drive them off the edge of the whote cliffs IMHO

Excuse the spelling, on the mobilr just now.

I had a Mk. II Nissan 350z in gunmetal, god I miss that car. Total motor-head myself but hard to stomach that I now have a Ford Focus Ghia. The rape at the petrol pump makes a fast car a gift to the government that I want want to give anymore.

In Switzerland they had brotherly love, they had 500 years of democracy and peace, and what did that produce? The cuckoo clock!"

Oooooo is the Focus Ghia like the Euro RS? I wish they'd bring some hot-versions of cars to the US! If they only knew the market they were missing!!!

350z's are very sexy, especially the new 370's; although I hear they are much less drift-friendly lol. The way to fix the gas-pump-rapage would be to do what Satch did lol. Get a bike! I actually have eventual (post college/pre-baby) plans to either supercharge or v8 swap my miata... Voting more towards the supercharger, since I like to think that keeping the displacement down will help keep the mileage up... but the bigger injectors needed and ecu mapping... haha oh it's good to dream!
