It's so that people who feel inadequate about their post count can up it with as little actual input as possible.

I don't know, maybe my continual harping about this sort of behaviour shows a Freudian sub-conscious obsession with post counts?

From my perspective,
it's just a bit of harmless fun. I've gotten a few laughs out of these, which is one of the reasons I come to this forum--hilarious folks here. Another, of course, is the extensive knowledge, not to mention the cigar porn. It's a full-service cigar board, 'tis. I suppose we could have a thread where we decide, or the moderators decide, whether to ban such things.

I'm with you on this one. I think these sort fo threads are a bit too silly for my tastes, but if others wish to partake then it's up to them. However, I realise that this type of thread is quite polarising. Perhaps a vote or (less democratically) a mod decision would be best for all concerned.

Or we could just allow freedom of expression

Oops! Looks like I've upset a few people starting this thread off.

It never crossed my mind that people were just using it to up their post count.

Other idea's for random threads which could be slightly more productive could be counting in cigar related pictures from 1 to say 1001. Say start off with positing pics of a siglo 1, epicure no2 etc......

Or an interesting cigar related picture posting thread, everyone who posts in the thread has to post a picture, even if asking a question about someone else's picture. As long as it has something to do with cigars it can be posted, from old cuba pics, herfing etc.

Just my two pennies.
