RYB was a special draft to get. You had flashes on your shoulder showing you were RYB crew, higher standard of dress & conduct expected, had to be recommended to serve onboard. A POMA's billet with a MO when Royalty onboard.

I seem to remember my sister going on a schools cruise on her in the mid ‘70’s.

So did my sister, nice tour around the Med. She went to a private day school that offered such excursions & I went to a Comprehensive that didn't. I had the last laugh though, as we had the 1st class cabins & dining & the walking wounded had the 4 tier bunks & canteen service that the school kids used.Originally posted by jerryr View Post
