Best of luck. That's the easy bit! Get plenty of practice in after that if you can. πŸ‘

I do but had a few years out with city living and lack of storage, hoping to pick up a tone that of some kind in the coming months though

At least with mod 1 no one else can cause you problems!

Haven’t really been on a bike much (occasionally on holiday) for about 20 years. Did CBT refresher couple weeks ago. Got 2 x 4 hour training sessions on the Saturday and Sunday then test Monday morning

Plan to do Mod 2 as soon as I can after

Not sure if I will get bike this year.. unfortunately couple fingers on left hand went numb a few weeks ago.. may have to have surgery on elbow which could put the arm out of action for bit

Well cos of my height 6ft 4 I am a bit limited to larger bikes (unless I want to look like a bear on a tricycle). A triumph rocket 3 seems a bit excessive for first bike so was thinking more along the lines of BMW F900R SE and being very careful on it - really got no interest in top end speeds, just want capability to do a bit of touring and enjoy myself

we will see though.. maybe test drive a few others once passed test

Nice. So your after a naked type sports..have you looked at the speed tripples. Very popular.

If its touring your thinking of why not look for an adventure bike? probably suit your height better, capable of carrying much more and still be excellent to ride. I did my training and tests on an F 750GS and ended up buying a tiger 800..its brilliant

                  Passed my mod 2 today!

did the training and test on a MT7.. fun bike but too small for my size

they let me test drive a tracer 9 for an hour and a half afterwards. That was a beast and I certainly pushed it πŸ˜† but I think a 900 is too much at this stage

test riding a Honda nc750x tomorrow and a Suzuki vstrom. 650

next Saturday testing out Kawasaki Versys 650 and triumph tiger sport 660

really like the sound of the nc750x.. not the most exciting or powerful but seems good all round and the frunk is appealing

Congrats, personally I wouldn’t worry about size too much engine wise unless you don’t yet believe you’re ready. 1200+ bikes for me are just a much more comfortable ride could always get a restrictor temporarily too.

If you love a bike but think it’s too much I think you’ll be amazed how soon you’ll end up buying it anyway!

Congratulations! Enjoy! I ride a ZX-6R. Been riding since the early nineties so all this mod1/mod2 malarkey is new since then.

I went with the NC750x in the end.. upright position which is handy considering I am 6ft 4

only 58bhp but lovely low down torque, plenty quick enough for me and more than capable of overtaking with the Mrs on the back too

A cigar always travels with me on my Friday evening rides
