I like his French press/cafetiere recipe. Very similar to the method used when 'cupping' coffees by tasters/buyers/roasters. I don't own a cafetiere but easy enough to replicate that recipe in any suitable vessel as the recipe renders the actual 'press' redundant.
Can't say I've enjoyed coffee from nespresoo pods but there are specialty pods that can be used in those machines. moteyi how you getting on with the ones you got from Grind?
Morning. The grind pods are fine - I've tried their house, decaf and light blends and am prefer the house or decaf which are similar. My only criticism of them is that it is difficult to distinguish between the different pods as they are all the same colour - there is just a very narrow coloured band on the underside of the rim to identify the blend. If anyone wants to give them a try you can get a discount using STEPHE-2JZMJ
Evening gents
I'm far less seriously into my coffee than some of you, happy to drink tea most of the day however it means when I do make coffee it's always from grounds.
Current methods are an old drip machine, a v60 or caffatiere for longer drinks and nesspresso or a stove top for espresso.
recently started grinding my own beans as I recieved a grinder for Christmas, best so far have been Divine roasters particularly there 'darkside'. The marker for me of a really good bean for me is not requiring a splash of milk to smooth it out, crude but effective.
I rarely pair coffee with a cigar as I prefer a sweeter drink with a smoke, cafe con leche is an option but the quantity required to last a cigar means between the caffeine, nicotine and sugar I'm leaving earths orbit by the nub.
First post on a cigar forum...on a coffee thread, well it can only go uphill from here!
I'm relatively straightforward, French Press coffee at the weekend is the usual go-to most of the year, although I quite like Turkish Coffee or Cold Brew coffee during the summer.
While I've been tempted to go for the ground Cubano or Montecristo coffee I've seen as authentic Cuban coffee, I've recently bought some cuban-style US "Cafe Bustelo" which apparently is pretty much the same taste and robust strength as authentic Cuban coffee, so look forward to trying that, probably with a Joya De Nicaragua Cabinetta Corona Gordo on a sunny weekend morning.
bought a Moka pot the other day. Just used it and had to say one of the best coffees I've had...used Taylors Rich Italian blend...gonna need to buy some others to see what I like. Any good beans too try?
I'm planning to buy a Gaggia Classic Pro and a good quality grinder before Christmas. I've been using a V60 for about 7 years and am utterly tired of drip filter. I do enjoy a good flat white from a local coffee shop, so I thought it's time to start doing them at home. Luckily my lovely lady is a trained barista, so free classes too 😂👍🏻
I've heard I may need to do some modifications to the Gaggia to get the best espresso from it. I'll try and remember to post the setup here when I finally get it all.

Have a Google search of Rave Coffee, Union Coffee and Black Cat Coffee. You'll be able to find some beans suitable for your needs on there 👍🏻
Ideally invest in a hand grinder or a machine to grind the beans fresh for each coffee. If you buy bags of ground coffee they lose their freshness and taste fairly quickly. Once you go freshly ground you will not go back 👍🏻

I'd be surprised if you don't find a stark contrast between the two once you try. However, if you're enjoying your current approach no need to change it up. If it ain't broke... You know the rest!

You mean the old adage
If it ain't broke, let it rot.
Or
If it ain't broke, you'll never discover anything better.
Or
If it ain't broke, you'll get hit by security violations and end up crying and regretting your life choices?

I think I may finally have this CAD under control...

Appreciate it's not the Pro,.but I've got a Gaggia Classic that I'd be happy to move on, message me if interested.
I really thought I'd be making myself a flat white everyday, but espresso at home is more of a hobby than it is a way of getting coffee and I have too many hobbies as is!
As for how I normally drink coffee though, once I discovered a Clever dripper I pretty much stopped using anything else even my trusty Aeropress
