    Anyone got a match?
I've got a great idea on how I can light my next cigar. . .

Why not use our massive prison population to some good use.

Special tread mill or exercise bike. Get them all pedaling and hey presto some more electricity from an untapped source. Just needs a catchy name.

          Any suggestions?

Personally global warming scares the hell out of me - not so much for me but for my little lad and the sort of world we are handing to him and his generation. The difficulty in the science is that of seperating 'long cycles' that are improperly understood (that include obviously non man made things like ice ages) with short ones where our own actions trigger things that we can't control (or replace like bio-diversity). The big danger of course comes less from the aging industrialised econmies of the west, but the rapidly expanding ones elsewhere (particularly china). Rising sea levels combined with rising populations and world food shortages would be one of the greatest threats to us worldwide.

I suspect most americans (outside of New Orleans) still don't believe it is happening, but then the majority still don't believe evolution is a proven fact and that the world is, contrary to the good book, more than 10,000 years old. But then when you look at the assorted racist rednecks and dimwits flocking around the Tea Party movement (probably only a matter of time before they all start wearing brown shirts) then you begin to realise that any hope for the world probably lays elsewhere anyway...

Thought this would be better in this old thread than a new one

A German entrepreneur is bypassing a European Union ban on light bulbs of more than 60 watts by marketing his own brand as mini heaters.

                    http://uk.reuters.com/article/idUKTRE69E33320101015

Nice to see rules are being used against the EU for once lol. Maybe cigars should be sold as mini heaters and not taxed lol.

LOL. Nice work by this gentleman! Cigars should be marketed as recreational supplies methinks. They have a massive value in the rest & relaxation of us, the partakers and indeed serve a purpose of instilling mental health in our busy lifestyles.

Anyway who;s worried about a couple of Penguins, it's making the lamp industry a fortune, and dont use them if you have dimmer switches.
