    Eg in the uk

    8w =40w
    11w=60w.

    perhaps a few us members could post the data off their packaging to compare?
    I'm not in the US but ours here in Oz are about the same. Havent notice any difference in the bills except they keep going up. Ours have doubled in 18 months because of Utility increases.

      After doing some thought last night I said to my self is this another way to milk the peasants out of more money they slaved for. I watched a show about the head of the U N and his push to become Eco friendly. They basically had scientist do research on global warming and concluded that a change needed to come or it would destroy the earth as we know it. What those who headed this research didn't tell us was they only used the reports that favored them making a shit load of money . They already had their interests in the companies that they stood to make a huge profit from. Once again scare tactics and your billionaires . Funny how the ex head of the UN now lives behind guarded gates in Beijing China and Al goar has made millions from that scheme.
      PS : There are scientist living in hiding who did the original research and told the UN that in no way shape or form that paint,and household cleaners had that big an impact on global warming !

        No. The biggest culprit is the Sun. But politicians and squillionaires are totally f**ked when it comes to dealing with little solar baby!

                No. Not every year. But frequently I would imagine otherwise the French founding fathers wouldn't have built levees to protect it.

                  Just reading the BBC website as you do and came across this article

                  http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-11199771

                  about how smart meters don't save money (i have one myself and all it does is annoy the Mrs when i ask her what she has turned on when i see it spike). It also included a chart

                  I know it is about Co2 emissions but if we assume average lighting bills account for 6% of your total electricity bill and energy saving light bulbs save about 80% compared to normal incandescent you might save just over 1% (1.2%) on your total house hold bill.

                  Could be more if you use gas to heat but i imagine that might make it jump to a whole 2% of your total bill (maybe).

                    The chart is a bit of a fib. Those Co2 emissions aren't coming from the home but from the inefficient plants which supply the energy.

                      Where is the 'segment' dealing with all the methane emissions?

                      Sorry, I've hugged my quota of trees for today, time to switch on all the lights and leave the fridge door open.

                      Who's with me?

                        I'm there already. Two computers going, 12 lights, reverse cycle air cond. Yep, I'm a nasty enviro pirate. I plugged the dogs butt with a cork to reduce the methane emissions.

                              Ahh, now I understand, that explains why, every few weeks, you go 'off-air' for a bit. . . to give Juggler boy a break from playing with his balls!

                                Juggler boy seems to be very good at playing with balls. As long as they are not TJ's then I'm not getting involved. HANG ON!, if they ARE TJ's I'm getting even less involved!
