Any Dexter Fans?

The wife and I got hooked on this a bit back and watched compulsively all the way up to the end of the fourth season.

I find it to be a genuinely unique show, and the way they manage to make a psychopath simultaneously endearing, witty, and murderous without resorting to pure silliness (only a couple of times have I questioned the writing or characterization) is impressive. I think what I really like about this show is the way it serves as a commentary not so much on Dexter as on what we consider normal. Can't wait for the new season to begin. Check it out if you haven't.

Been an avid fan since the very first episode. The books are great too. Not the best writing, but, as with the show too, you tend to make exceptions for small, questionable things because it is so entertaining. New season on the 26th I believe?

Yep, one of the most original TV shows for decades.

Darkly funny, but thrilling and deeply emotional too.

It's probably the only TV show that still surprises me.

The end of season 4 (Let's not mention what happened, UK viewers are a whole season behind, unless like me, they watch it 'off the internet) really caught me off guard, and kind of opens up all sorts of potential for season 5 (yep 26th of Sept)

I've got Dexters theme (Blood Theme, not the theme music) as my phone ringtone, when it goes off in a public place you can spot the Dexter fans by their grins!

Love it too. I like to watch it all in one go so prefer to download it but up until now the Americans have had it way before us so it was easy to see it before it was on in the UK, but now they are being played simultaneously so I may watch it as they appear on TV.

We love Dexter but it is not showing here at the moment. We are waiting for the next season to be shown. :-(

I agree--the end of season 4 was a bit shocking, if that's possible on this show, though not out of line for the general pattern of the show (as my friend puts it, Dexter kills, Dexter almost gets caught, and Dexter gets away).

I'd say that one of the interesting potential issues is how Dexter will have any free time at all. I'll stop there before letting out any specific information.

Good to see all of the Dexter love out there--definitely a worthy show.

I'd say it's worth a shot if you like a show that is well crafted and thought provoking. Thinking about it, one could argue that lead roles of Dexter and The Sopranos are similar insofar as they both suffer from compulsions derived from early family experiences that make them live outside of the law as they try to appear to live a normal life.

The one huge difference is that Dexter doesn't have a set of goons to carry out his wishes, nor does he make any money off of his deeds.
