First single was actually vinyl. It was 'Wipeout' by the Fat Boys featuring the Beach Boys.
I think my first album was probably something Beatles as a present from some relatives. Not sure what the first one I bought was.
I still have some vinyl but it's mainly d&b or techno that I couldn't get any other way.

        Blimey!

Those cylindrical 'wax recordings' are worth a fortune.

O' course it helps if you've still got a hand-cranked Gramophone to play 'em on!

I can't remeber my first one, but the most expesinve one is a Blue Triangle DSOTM in 'crappy' condition for 60 quid. Silly move but after that I manage to get hold of one in very playable condition for just 30 pounds. Sold the crappy one on, nearly manage to make a profit out of it. crazy LP.

First recoed was "The Last Time" by the Stones. Cost about 1/3, if I remember correctly. First album was "With the Beatles." Can't remember how much.

I remember Um(6) by Wayne Fontana and the Mindbenders.

                  "Walking through the Park
                  It wasn't quire dark,
There was a man sittin on a bench
                  Out of the crowd,
                  Has his head Lowly bowed,
He just moaned and it made no sense"

Is that the one? Must have made a big impression on me if I can still remember the words!

Mindbenders version was a crappy 'whitey' cover about 4-5 years after Major Lance's soul version.

Written by Curtis Mayfield. But as far as I know he never recorded it!

Hi David - I too gave up on Numan in the mid-80's back around the release of the pseudo-funk, fretless-bass mess that was DANCE....
...I recently saw him on the REPLICAS anniversary tour and I was blown away. Best gig I've ever been to I also saw him on THE PLEASURE PRINCIPAL tour...

My first record was an album - Alice Cooper: Billion Dollar Babies. No recollection as to how much it cost.
Never got into buying singles (used to record the chart show instead).

First single: T.Rex - Telegram Sam
First album: T.Rex - Electric Warrior

I absolutely adore Marc Bolan and T.Rex to this day.
Not a bad passion for a piano player, really.

My vinyl copy of Electric Warrior was warped terribly when I left it on the parcel shelf of my Dad's car in the sun when we drove from Ipswich to Bicester.

                          I was devastated.

First Album: No sleep till Hammersmith - Motorhead OR Back in Black - AC/DC

Can't quite remember which one came first. It was sooooo long ago.

The first piece of vinyl I bought was Born in the USA LP from Asda bargain bin in Dunfermline. The first single/EP was Sit Down by James.

Most expensive was probably a Dinosaur Jr 10 inch etched disc of Feel The Pain. Cant remember how much but it was a few quid.

Looking to sell my old vinyl soon, got some limited editins so might get enough cash to buy some new cigars.

It was on the cusp of my Punk era and sad to say it was 'Don't go breaking my Heart' by Elton John, followed a week later by
