I usually work Christmas, but for the first time in 18 years I’ve decided to shut Christmas Day, thanks to the state of the economy. Frankly not sure what I’m going to do.

usually have a few pints in the pub with a few old friends, not happening this year with covid, so a quiet Christmas this year at home just me and the wife

Xmas lunch of a platter of seafood (crab,lobster,langoustines and prawns etc) with a couple bottles of bubbly. Then a full Xmas dinner later on on the evening and leave all the washing up till Boxing Day morning.

We start the morning with scrambled eggs, smoked salmon and champagne.
Then get a leggy dog walk in, home for pressies and throw the old bird in the oven!

mid december an evening out at an annual vintage port tasting .... sadly was by zoom this year...
Xmas eve home made pizza. Wife n kids still like ‘night before chrismas’ reading.
xmas morning champagne with gifts.
boxing day out shooting

sprinkle all of the above liberally with port n cheese!

Only tradition here is that everyone tends to themselves on Xmas day. We don’t eat anything except join up for ris-ala-mande and vintage port for late dinner.
I usually get lucky and get to fly my paraglider - and so it will also be today. Perfect wind, sunshine and -2 degrees😎
After flight smoke this afternoon will be a Lonsdale of some kind 😎
