Because I work night shifts and work from home I'm up working in my living room at 2.55am when my soundbar clicks into life. It stays on for about five minutes then goes back into standby mode, every night. Being a curious sort of guy I turned to Google for answers and discovered that this is a well documented phenomena and always around 3am! Any genii got any theories. I've tried asking if there's anyone there.

My guess is something is waking up and looking for a network connection to perform an update. Not necessarily the sound bar though.
Do you have Auto On / Off or CEC (or whatever the equivalent is) turned on? If so, unplug the HDMI or optical cable from your TV and see if it still acts the same.
If it doesn’t turn on at night then it’s your TV causing the issues - likely it’s looking for an update and when it comes out of hibernation it’s activating auto on / off and switching the sound bar on.
I know it’s not connected to the internet but have you done a SW update as there may have been a bug fix to resolve this exact issue.
Also, was / is your phone connected to it via Bluetooth? If so, turn Bluetooth off at night on your phone to see if that does anything as if your phone wakes up (to do an update) that could bring the sound bar out of standby via Bluetooth if it makes a connection.
Clutching at straws with the above here but CEC is my bet so disable “auto update” on the TV. Worse case call QA as their support is pretty good.Last edited by gav_sw20; 13-11-2020, 07:58 AM.
