+ 2 (Sorry not helping either).

Being (brutally) honest, what I'd really go for is the HTC Desire (in fact I did), but I've also got a 3GS too...

(Yeah, OK, I'll admit it - I occasionally go for 'style over substance' too, just like the rest of you 'blinded by the shiney-ness of it' apple fan-boys).

...However, it's not without its flaws, in an ideal world I'd prefer it to run the Microsoft mobile operating system (there, I said it), simply because, (despite everything they say about 'Bill') the user has a 'far' greater control over what they can do with the damn things with that software (Unlike the 'Paranoid' Job)!

      Have a 3GS.
Find the 4 a sexy prospect.
Have mates with hiccups with the 4.
So will stay put for now as I am very happy.

Sorry to continue OT, but what can't you do with your Desire that you can with a Microsoft phone? I genuinely think my Desire is better than my laptop.

I wouldn't disagree. It's an excellent (and far more portable) convergence device (IMHO) than many laptops out there.

          Access and control.
The 'Windows mobile' software, for all its faults (yes, it has plenty), lets the user 'explore and change' far more of the operating system than either of the other two major players. Who seem to want much greater control over how (and who) can use their software, make changes/modifications etc.

In many ways this is a good thing. It prevents the uninitiated from 'bricking' their shiny new phone by installing something that 'the powers that be' deem to be unsuitable. However, I miss the ability to 'open' it up, explore and customise the way Windows allows.

Androids (and apples) idea of customisation, in reality, is little more than allowing a user to change the 'wallpapers and ring tones' (I'm being a bit flippant - but the point's the same), everything else, needs their approval.
It's still a great phone though.

Back to topic - Sorry .. Sorry ..

I'd love either 3 or a 4. However I have a company blackberry that I dont pay for I so cant justify getting one for personal
So If anyone wants to donate one in return for some Rocky Patels or Hamlets I'd be most happy

I'll probably get a 4G eventually, but I'm going to wait for the next hardware/firmware upgrade. You already have the software on the 3GS, so wait until they upgrade the storage capacity to 64g. Shouldn't be long, knowing Apple.

I have a 3GS and while I love it as a mobile computer I hate it as a phone (as the radio is so poor).

Seriously thinking of jacking it in and going back to a Crackberry.

But, back to subject....I have never had a problem with my 3GS and love it. I think if you have had problems with Apples OS upgrade then you start to think more about bothering to upgrade at all, and I know a few that have had problems.

Also the design of the 4 looks like a normal phone and not the looks of the classic iPhone...

I have two weeks to decide and to throw in a wild card I have been offered ?230 for my 3GS by one of the Mobile recyc sites...

It has been suggested that the problem is the o2 network rather than the iphone?

New owner of the iPhone 4 but yes, reception issues are rather persistent!? Apparently I will be sent a free 'bumper' which is supposed to improve it, though not sure how!? Other than that, the most breathtakingly pretty phone I have ever seen. Easy and fast to go online (that is when there is reception!), and is more or less a portable iPad, in essence!

I've just got the Sony Xperia X10 andriod phone.

Have to say I am loving it, just as good as iphone and better in some aspects.

Processor faster than iphone 4, 2 year waranty covers nearly everything. Same kind of apps etc, 8 mgp camera with flash and longer battery life, 8 hours talk time.

Comes with removable battery and micro SD, have an 8 gb card in at the moment but can upgrade to the 32bg if I wanted to.

Also still on my same talk plan at ?31.00 per month including insurance. Get loads of minutes cross network, shed loads of texts and enough G3 to keep me happy.

All in I think it is one of the best phones I have had.

iphone is cool but apple put so many stupid restrictions on their products I find them unapealing.

Would have cost me at least ?45.00 per month to get the 4 for ?29.00 and ?119.00 for ?35.00 without insurance which would have been an extra ?12.00 per month.

iphone also only has a 1 year waranty that only covers battery and one other thing. So with a 2 year contrat if your battery goes up the creek then you end up forking out loads for apple to replace it.

My advice only get the iphone if you really want it. If you want a smart phone that does everything the iphone does and probably does it better, then go for android. Samsung galaxy is supposed to be excellent. I would reccomend my Sony in a second.

                                Hope this helps.
