  • Life's ironies...

Just watching the news and was struck by one of life's many ironies:

Why is it that so many anti-war protesters are some of the most aggressive people you'll ever see?

Can anyone else think of some of life's ironies?

Well, no, it's not, clearly... But you get what I was at (I hope).

How about animal rights activists. They seem to care more about animals than the lives of people.

Chico, I think that's because people have an advantage and can help themselves or get help, if they want.

Many animals (domestic and otherwise) are at our mercy! i.e., Sara Palin hunting wolves from a helicopter!

Pinhead, you boob! You're such a Tree Hugger!

This is a nice irony, and it has its Orwellian counterpart; Pro-war folks who stake their claims on the basis of peace.

What I mean is when animal rights activists explicitly target people, whether they are directly or indirectly involved in animal experimentation (I.e. for the benefit of medical treatment advancement?) through intimidation, violence and even murder. That of course includes targetting their own families. So yes I agree with your counter-arguments. No, I don't mean actual animal abuse simply to satisfy sadistic hungers.

Suburban Utility Vehicles that never go off-road (I call them Suburban Futility Vehicles).

Similarly, fashionable outdoors and exercise clothing worn by people who don't go outdoors or exercise, and especially in the case of those who really need to.

And then there is the interpersonal relationship realm of ironies, such as adults who do to their children what they hated when they were young, or the fact that people are often attracted directly to those who drive them nutty.

Back to the animal rights and those vegetarians who refuse to eat meat because it involves killing animals.
Are leather jackets and shoes and sheepskins really what to wear?
