  • For the shavers....

I just took delivery of a '59 Gillette Fatboy!

What a razor! The hype is right!

Its my first adjustable DE Razor so of course I went straight in with a #9 aggressive shave and pulled it off!

I went with the Personna Israeli "red pack" blade which I'm pretty familiar with..... Its a good combo that worked for me!
It aint where ya from, its where ya at!

Going from something like a gillette fusion to a safety razor is like going from hamlets to cubans!

You get a proper shave at a fraction of the cost! I used a merkur HD for a few years and have saved a fortune! Merkur blades are about ?5 for 10, each of which has 2 edges.... Yes the HD will set you back about ?25 but you soon get it back once you stop buying the fusion blades!!!!! ?9 for 4!

It's just another hobby really but the returns are fantastic.

So, what your saying there is a better way of wet shaving? As I can't stand the electric ones...

My wife shaves my head every other day with a merkur HD. It's all good. Takes a little learning like anything but my head is always smooth and no rash. ( just 1 blade doing the cut not 5 causing damage)

That's sounds great, I use a gillette multiblade, and it does leave a rash on the neck sometimes, plus if its hot that day you have to prey you don't sweat or its sting city

I gave up on the gillettes years a go and went for the safety razor...never looked back.

More accurate for landscaping, less irritation, closer shave, cheaper blades...

                            We're just talking razors here.

Some people treat wet shaving and accessories as most of us here treat cigars.

You can get a better shave if you venture away from the mach 3s and other mainstream razors.

Its not that unusal, We have s shaving centre (its just a small shop) in Glasgow dedicated to razors and shaving accessories.
