  • Thank You, Joe

Your beauties arrived in the post from across the pond this morning, my man. Thank you!
I seriously appreciate this, mate. It's made my day.
    I'll add more later.

      Brilliant, my man!
Sense a firm transatlantic heterosexual hug from me, cigar brother.

Going out to a supermarket. Will wax on later, bro.

        What can I say?

I was driving along this morning thinking that my desktop 50 stick humidor is stocked VERTICALLY very nicely with my 25 Punch Punch and my 25 Partagas Serie D4 at the moment,... BUT that what I need to do now is buy a HORIZONTAL stock - a selection of a couple each of Siglo VIs and Edmundos and Hoyo Epicure no2s and Bolivars and... and... and...

And then I didn't have to, because of the two OUTSTANDING Padron 1926 cigars I pulled out of Joe's box from the States. These cigars are a SUBLIME smoke! My video response - LMFAO! - will be sitting under a review of this cigar in the review posts.

The Rocky Patel Decade looks superb - and I haven't smoked a Rocky Patel before, but have watched great smoke reviews of these sticks on cigaraficionado TV. I will look forward to that smoke!
I have never smoked a Punch Gran Puro, but will love doing so. I haven't smoked any Punch cigars until around November last year and then fell deeply in love with them. I think the aroma from a Punch as you torch it up is one of the most majestic moments in cigar fiddling! Dale sent me a Rare Corojo at Christmas, and that was wonderful. I shall look forward to that moment!

As you can see, I shall reciprocate with some D4s and some Punch Punch as I'm more vertical than horizontal LOL and hope you can cope.

I do get quietly moved by the gestures of friendship through cigars and music and so on that we can share through this site. I'd like to meet more people. So far, I've only ever herfed with Dean from Ashford in a freezing pub garden smoke shelter in Canterbury - and he seems to have gone underground. Well, it wasn't me who buried him, guv!

I do think the sending and receiving of cigars is fantastic because it's a sensual thing when you eventually torch up, and I'm sure I'd get on like a house on fire with a good number of people from the site because of what we can write about, be serious about and take the fucking piss out about, as well.

And that's just how it would be if we were still allowed to laugh and smoke together in any of our locals.

Joe - I think I'll hit the first of these sticks next weekend after they've humi'd up again. I can't wait!

Bryan I couldn't help but see, does your digital hygrometer say 55% humidity? I usually like mine about 65% or one or two notches above.

Do you prefer your cigars a little dryer?

              Hi Gary

I had my humidor open for a while when fiddling around between rooms with the humidor and moving stuff off tables for a shot for the forum. I noticed that it read 68 when I opened it. I'm presuming it will have gone down, or changed, because it was open - but I will check that and, if necessary, adjust it.

No. I don't like dry cigars at all. I like them sexy-fat and fetid, which they usually are. I like to squeeze them without them cracking!

I'll poke my nose in and make adjustments as soon as, if necessary.

              Thanks for this, mate.

                Gary

Replenished the water in the humidifier bit, moved the cigar furniture around a bit, and I'm back to a reading after a night's kip of 68.

It must have been down because I left the lid open a while.

Yeah I thought that it might have been because your humidor was open for a while, while you were taking a photo or two, although some people just prefer their cigars a bit dryer, not that it matters like, each to their own, as long as you enjoy them that's the main thing mate!

Also Bryan, let us all know what that Rocky Patel Decade torpedo is like, I want to know if the 95 points Cigar Aficionado magazine give it is justified! I like Rocky Patel cigars but feel that, that score might have been a little generous?

I have savoured one of Joe's Padron 1926s today. What a thing of beauty!

I will approach the Rocky Patel smoke night with the same anticipation as for a night of special sex. I am sure it will score very highly.
