Anybody seen inception?

I saw inception a couple of days ago and must say it is a great film with an excellent concept keeping your mind thinking throughout whilst delivering an exhilirating experience at the same time. The one question i have about the film *spolier* Is at the start when the chinese man (forgot name ) when he spins the top i am sure i remeber it falling at the start but i cannot remeber and if it did fall at the start that means at the end it is really a dream and his wife is right in her belief she would go to reality by killing herself. Sorry if it sounds complicated but its got me thinking Bravo! for the film top marks as far as i'm concerned, a very interesting topic.

The one thing that struck me all the way through the film is the fact that they talk about "the kick" (the feeling of falling) being the thing that wakes you up. So they need someone to make that falling feel happen in the "awake" world to wake you.... and then they set the whole thing on a long haul flight! I have been on many long haul flights and I doubt in ten hours they'd avoid any mild turbulence and thus "the kick". Even if you buy into the pseudo-science of this movie (and I'm very ready to suspend my disbelief at any time) it hasn't been thought through properly. It seemed full of massive holes to me.

Looked good though.

Hmmm it's true but everything cannot be perfect and it is almost an impossible concept so i think i'll let them get away with having no turbulence in the flight set in an imaginary world so everything's fair play . However perhaps the long haul flight was infact a dream...

There were loads of holes but I loved the film, really different and interesting, best film I have seen in ages ...but then the mechanics of dreaming and the sub-concious have always been of interest to me.

One of the best films i have seen in a while. I'm glad they didn't go with an ending that would have been a typical cheap and nasty Dallas we can't be bothered cop out. Might have to watch it again as i'm sure there are lots of hidden little clues throughout the movie.

Definitely an interesting flick--but I was more impressed with the cgi than the story. I thought his earlier films, particularly The Dark Night, are a bit deeper and profound, while this one is a cool mental puzzle with awesome effects.

At the start when leo get dragged to the old chinese guy he spins the top and says ive seen one before and what im asking is does the spinning top topple over because i think it may have... meaning that the 'dream' world was actually reality.

Good point. Here's my take: according to the explanation provided within the film, the falling of the top indicates that one is in reality. You are correct: the top does fall at the beginning of the film, but it doesn't at the end. If I am understanding things correctly, the ending suggests that the whole film takes place within a dream, but, of course, the cut-out leaves us hanging. If the whole film does take place as a dream, then even the first falling top is itself a dream, and hence not a real indication of reality, but only what the character dreams reality would be...
