hey deano...........sounds fantastic!!! my missus wants to go to cuba () which is obviously great for me........maybe not so since i gotta foot the bill!!!! lol!!!! 2 weeks all inclusive outta manchester ?924 PP.........that's for jan 2011!!! sounds tempting!!!

what about some of the 'premium' smokes, such as the h upmann 'sir winstons' (i've heard good things about 'em, never had the chance to try one though)? the lusitanias and sublimes sound like a sound bet (again, never had the chance to try either).........i suppose you'd be best waiting till you're there, god knows what'll tempt you!!!!

      have a great one,

      alex

Deano what are the receipts required for? Surely 50 sticks are 50 sticks?

Two boxes is the limit? So if you buy two boxes of 50-100 cigars thats alright? You could always go to the factory and ask them to custom build you a box that can house subsections of 4-5 Cuban brands...?

Sealed boxes with receipts are required by Cuban customs on leaving the country. Your difficulty is returning to the uk. 50 cigars per person. It's up to the individual If you wish to risk it on your return.

Nice one Deano... I'm just booking a trip for feb, can't make the festival date though will be the 2 weeks before.

Considering the limit I'd personally go for LE's, some of the older LE's may still be available and now better with a bit of age on them! Behike's if you can find them would be a good choice also , a collectable humidor might be interesting too, let us know how you get on.... I'm particularly interested in peoples opinions of the best hotels, and good bars, clubs etc. for Cuban music and cocktails in Havana..... Hope you have a great trip.

Yeah, have a nice time old chap. I will have to make do with a fortnight en Bretagne soon - which I can live with! Might get to try those Navarres even though they cost more then most Cubans.

Two boxes is misleading. It isn't two boxes, it's 50 cigars to come back into the UK from a non-EU country. You need receipts to show to Cuban Customs to show you haven't bought fakes - although given the boxes that crop up on Ebay I guess that they are not the most assiduous of checkers.

I have always found this a good place for looking at prices in Cuba: http://marty.514crew.com/cigarprices.html

Xe.com can do the currency conversion from CUC to sterling

Receipts are needed for customs to show that you didn't buy on the grey market. It's a well known fact that you need 'em.

AC - yeah some Behikes would be good.

                    Tupacboy - no :P
