I just got back from a loooong holiday and was just wondering if anyone else has tried beedis or Garam?
Beedis are basically the cheapest thing you can possibly smoke that pack a pretty serious nicotine hit and come at 15 in a pack for 6 rupees (approx 10p). They are much thinner and shorter than cigarettes and look like a naked tobacco leaf wrapped around a few times. They have an incredibly pungent smell that usually envelops the poor labourers of India.
Garam looks like a slightly bigger cigarette and lasts about 3 times as long and smells very distinctly Indian. You can taste cardamom in the smoke but what I really loved was that if you lick your lips after smoking a few puffs, your lips taste very strongly of sweet cardamom.
Unfortunately I didnt really try out any cigars in India but, some nice smoking experiences regardless
