  • Starbucks Us smoking ban

Just read on another forum that Starbucks now enforce no smoking outside there stores in the states. Has this happened here yet, if not, how long before they do.

Who cares? Personally I don't want to go near their store, it isn't a royalty or honor to smoke outside their building is it? I don't smoke cigarettes or buy from them.

    Just my thoughts.

    Regards.

I was wondering that myself, how can they ban smoking outside their stores if the area is on a public highway. However, if they have introduced the ban then they must have done so knowing they can enfore it???

The coffee is shocking but I still love going there. I like the cold drinks and watching the world go past while I smoke. Odd I know, so much I should hate about the place but I love it. The staff or often damn friendly also. I hope they do not do this, gosh.

Venti Java Chip Frap Light please!

It was just a matter of time--the noose is only going to tighten. On the other hand, that is some burnt ass coffee they sling.

                  Sayz Who?

                  Hmmm!

I was just in the states (DC area) and enjoyed a fine puro while sitting outside a starbucks with no problem....except for the rain that was leaking through the unbrella!

Costa is middle of the road, Nero is the best coffee of the big three.

Red roaster in Brighton is not a million miles for me and stunning coffee.

Regardless of the quality of the coffee, it's a pain if ANY terrace-type sit down spot in busy towns or cities becomes a no-go area to enjoy a cigar. It gives more power to the noncey hand-waving anti-smoking zealot-bores to make a fuss.

They should shut up, relax, breathe in the whiff and learn to be comfortable with how overwhelmingly sexy we are.

Not sure if the chairs/tables are on public property (pavement) this would even be enforceable as in most cases they are only allowed their seating there on a goodwill basis. In this instance the 'right to refuse entry' (UK) would probably not apply. If it is a private terraced area then they can do what they want.

Still if you want to fight it buy a F*ckbucks T-shirt, cap and a giant crappafrappawhatever then stand in the closest public area puffing away on a big fat stick.

Let's get radical brothers, fight the power.

Agree with Boss on this one. Costa have better coffee and snacks available IMO.

I dont use them at all, i recently watched a tv article about all the coffee shops supplying our troops in afghanistan with free coffee and Starbucks refused to participate stating that they shouldnt be over there invading another country and wouldnt be part of the coluding process by giving away free stuff.. There was also a boycott Starbucks page on facebook but i think some legal process meant it was removed.

So just out of spite, id be happy to sit outside or stand outside starbucks smoking the smelliest cigar i could find just to piss them off.. maybe if your sat down they can ask you to move as its their seating arrangment for customers, but if you stand around like a member of the public, how can they stop you..
