  • Greatest Beatles Album Ever?

As there is a Stones poll, there must be a Beatles Poll. A couple of introductory remarks:

-As there are only ten possible slots, I combined the first two albums
-For the same reason, and because it's filled with a lot of soundtrack music, I omitted Yellow Submarine
-Only UK releases are posted because there is not enough room and they are pretty much all superior.

I've picked Abbey Road because of the majestic brilliance that is side two.

Well, they never actually made an "albulm," nino, but they did make some mighty fine albums!!!

Apparently you missed the 60's, chico lil'dog, and went straight to two 80's.

(Ahem!) Sadly, I guess not, virgin boy....I guess not, indeed.

Somebody somewhere on here wrote that The Beatles' stuff is Muzak.
              WTF???

I went for the Stones over the Beatles, but it's only because the two best cigars were left in the humidor.

So many jewels across so many albums. So hard!

It has to be Abbey Road, especially Side B, for me.

Oh yes, my bad--it has actually got some of my favorite songs, but it is a soundtrack and does have a couple of clear throwaways. I'm open to arguments otherwise, but it is not your common 'greatest Beatles album' contender.

                        "who were Wings?"
"only the band the Beatles could have been"

                        ...priceless

I did post earler but it seems to have got lost in the ether.

I have to choose between Abbey Road and the White Album. Abbey Road is a materpiece but I'm tempted to go with the White Album, if only for the breadth of styles.......

Absolutely, though Day in the Life is my favorite Beatles song more often than not. Looks like Pepper is winning here.
