The two possible combinations seemed to have been thoroughly considered and both pairings are a bit weird politically.
I didn't vote for either of the two new guys coming in so I view the new regime with some trepidation. I do hope they can work 'for the national interest'. I do hope they don't bring back the ghastliness of the Thatcher era at its worst.
The cuddling up of the last few days by all of these men who work against each other has been sickening.
Hope we get a clear winner next time.
Hope it's Labour.
Thank God we didn't get landed with another unelected Prime Minister. Labour's unseemly efforts to cling on to power will have doomed them for the forseeable future.
Thrilled, total joy. After thirteen years of treason spouting scum we have an Englishman leading a Tory government, I am as pleased as can be.

Reason: Typo
"In Italy for 30 years under the Borgias they had warfare, terror, murder and bloodshed, but they produced Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, and the Renaissance. In Switzerland they had brotherly love, they had 500 years of democracy and peace, and what did that produce? The cuckoo clock!"
Lib Dem and Tories working together...well well well.
Assist me here if you will.
Across The Pond in the Great White North, any sort of "Liberal" climbing into bed with a "Conservative" would be as likely as me mixing Cream Soda with my Scots Whisky and since neither party would ever consider a coalition with our Socialists, we suffer along with a minority (or as you folk say, a "hung") government. It's a mess.
So how do you all (people of discriminating taste, at least in cigars) think this new combination is going to work? Are you hopeful? Resigned? Angry? Disinterested?
Inquiring Minds Want to Know!
Ah, but there is no major socialist party in this septic isle!
I presume you live in the US where Liberal and Conservative are just two sides of the same right wing coin. The Liberals are just people who don't want to murder absolutely everybody!
In the UK, the Conseratives are a true blue English party who strive to make middle England better and to hell with everybody else. The Liberals used to be the conscience of the country, chipping in now and again when the ruling party was getting out of hand.
The one good thing about this election is that it has effectively ended the "union" in the UK. The Scottish elections next year will underline that!
No man has the right to fix the boundary of a nation.
No man has the right to say to his country, "Thus far shalt thou go and no further."
We Proud Canadians are always terribly offended by such presumptions.
The only part of the US that is at all White is also the home of one Sarah Palin, a rabidly right-wing conservative Republican. We Canucks don't consider Alaska all that Great.
No, we model our Parliament on that of The Mother Country so we also have "Question Periods" that feature so-called grown adults acting like kindergarteners. I'm just curious to know how two parties who had such divergent positions and policies during your recent election campaign will justify whatever "middle grounds" they adopt and whether this strange coalition will last longer than any of those Italian ones.
Are any of your new Ministers known to be Cigar Smokers?
That would be a start.
